Tiler's Mate
The Tiler's Mate App is based around three pages - Surfaces, Tile Pattern and Summary.
Surfaces - calculate the total area of the surfaces you need to tile. For example a job could consist of just one surface like a floor or four walls.
Tile Pattern - set the sizes of the tiles you want to use. You can specify up to five tiles and they can all be different sizes and colours. Use your finger to move the tiles around to experiment with different patterns
Summary - Given the surfaces and the tile sizes from the other pages, in Summary you can set the number of tile pattern repeats and add in additional tiles so that you can see how many tiles are needed for a job.
In use you can switch back and forth between the three pages as needed and information will update across the pages.
Measurements
Surface dimensions and tile dimensions are either in millimetres or inches. Tap the measurement units select box to choose your units.
On startup Tiler's Mate gives you the opportunity to tap in measurements for a single surface e.g. a floor. When you've entered your measurements press the 'Update' button to calculate the area of the surface. Areas are calculated both in square metres and square feet, irrespective of the measurement units you have selected.
If you have more surfaces to tile e.g. four wall surfaces, press the 'Add another surface' button and additional width and height spaces will appear. Pressing the 'Update' button will calculate the total area of all surfaces.
You can set a different size and colour for each of the five possible tile tiles. Tiler's Mate will automatically scale the sizes on screen so that the smallest tile size is always visible and moveable with a finger.
Drag the tiles around the screen to form the tile pattern you want. You get an indication of the tile pattern size to know how many pattern repeats you'll need.
