Templates by numbers combines CAD and practical work. Students can design joints (e.g. dovetails, comb joints, mortise and tenon) and assemblies (e.g. cabinets, frame and panel) using our online system, then download the resulting plans/templates to use with their choice of hand tools, power tools or CNC routers. See case studies below for how schools have used the system.

The informative nature of our template print-outs mean students can see for themselves the various ways to machine wood including how router offsets and tool paths factor. Additionally if modelling is the objective, actual size templates mean students can model safely joints and assemblies in cardboard or foam without touching a power cutting tool.

Templates by numbers is an online service so once your school/college is registered, students can use the system in school or from home.
